A cover lifter is a mechanical tool that will make your life easier! It allows you to remove and replace your spa cover quickly and effortlessly. Cover lifters are designed to simplify the handling process of spa covers, which can weigh an average of 10 to 15 kg. How to choose a spa cover lifter?
A well-chosen cover lifter makes handling your spa cover easier while helping preserve it over time. Here are a few tips to help you choose the ideal cover lifter for your spa:
- Determine the installation type: Is your spa installed above ground or built in? This information is important, as not every cover lifter will work with every setup. Also remember to measure your spa dimensions and determine its shape. If your spa is built into a deck, it is essential to choose a model designed for mounting on the spa cabinet — models that require sliding underneath the spa will not be compatible.
- Measure the available space around your spa: a cover lifter needs free space next to your spa so it can open easily. The required clearance depends on the chosen model and may vary (approximately 15 cm, 50 cm, 60 cm or more). If the space around your spa is limited, choose our compact models requiring only 15 cm of clearance, compatible with almost all configurations.
- Choose the system best suited to your needs: There are two main types of cover lifters — manual systems (single lever or dual-arm), which are affordable and easy to install, and models with hydraulic assistance, which provide nearly effortless operation. If you use your spa daily, choose a hydraulic or premium model: it will withstand repeated use much better than an entry-level model.

What different types of spa cover lifters are available?

By installation type:
- Cabinet mount: attaches directly to the outside panel of the spa. Compatible with all configurations, including spas installed on a deck. This is the standard universal solution.
- Under-spa mount (Under): the arms slide underneath the spa structure. Requires free space underneath — not compatible with built-in spas or spas integrated into a deck.
- Versatile mount: can be installed either as a cabinet mount or an under-spa mount depending on your setup.
- Deck mount (Deckmount): attaches directly to the deck, ideal for built-in spas without access to the cabinet.
By lifting system:
- Manual system: affordable and easy to install, ideal for regular use without major physical effort.
- Hydraulic assistance: almost effortless opening. Recommended for intensive daily use or particularly heavy covers.
