What makes up a spa massage pump?
A spa pump is mainly composed of two parts:
- The pump body: responsible for drawing in and pushing out water to the massage jets. The key component is the impeller, connected to the motor shaft, which generates water flow.
- The motor: this provides the power needed for operation. The more powerful the motor, the more jets the pump can supply, delivering a revitalizing spa massage.
The reference of your pump allows you to easily find an equivalent model in our spa spare parts catalog.
Single-speed or dual-speed massage pump: which should you choose?
Single-speed massage pump
A single-speed pump operates at only one speed and is used solely to power the massage jets. The more powerful it is, the more jets it can supply, providing a more invigorating massage. You’ll need a separate circulation pump to handle jacuzzi filtration.
Dual-speed massage pump
A dual-speed pump typically features a low speed (less than 1 HP) for filtration and a high speed (more than 1 HP) for powering the massage jets. This 2-in-1 system may eliminate the need for an additional circulation pump. It can be controlled via a dedicated keypad, allowing you to select different modes, adjust jet intensity, and set session duration for a customized experience.
What’s the difference between a massage pump and a circulation pump?
The massage pump generates the pressure for hydrotherapy jets and only runs when the jets are activated.
The circulation pump, on the other hand, is dedicated to filtration and maintaining water temperature. It runs continuously with low power but high endurance.
How to choose the right pump?
Check compatibility with your spa using the reference from your old pump or the manufacturer’s guide. Then verify the technical specifications: dimensions, voltage, speed settings, and clearance… You can replace your pump with a Boospa Pump, a Waterway Executive, an LX Whirlpool, or a Balboa, as long as the specifications match.
What power should I choose?
A pump that’s too weak won’t perform well. A pump that’s too powerful will consume unnecessary electricity. The power must be suited to your spa’s water volume and number of jets.
How long does a pump typically last?
The average lifespan of a massage pump is 3 to 5 years, depending on maintenance and usage.
Can I install the pump myself?
Yes, installation is straightforward. We provide detailed guides and instructional videos to assist you.
How much does a new pump cost, and are there refurbished alternatives?
New pumps range from €78 to €600 depending on the specifications. We also offer refurbished pumps at up to 50% off, reliable, robust, and compatible with most spas.
What are the delivery times?
For in-stock items, any order placed before 1 p.m. on business days is shipped the same day. Delivery takes approximately 48 to 72 hours within mainland France and 5 to 10 days for international orders. If the model is unavailable, delivery times may range from a few weeks.
Should I replace the entire pump or just a component?
It depends on the issue. We offer pump bodies for cracks, impellers for broken parts, and if the motor is faulty, replacing the whole pump is recommended.
What is the warranty period?
All our pumps come with a 2-year warranty.
What are the return or exchange conditions?
Products can be returned or exchanged if they are in their original packaging, unused, and show no signs of wear.
Is technical support available?
Yes, our customer service is available via the contact form, by phone, or through video assistance. Our experts will help you select the right model and guide you through installation.
