When choosing the right spa filter, it is important to check several technical characteristics. The diameter, length, and handle type are the main criteria to consider. Depending on the models, you may find an MPT, SAE, or PWW handle. The fastening system, opening, and thread pitch should also match your installation to ensure optimal filtration. An incorrectly sized filter can reduce filtration efficiency and make installation in the skimmer more complicated.

Our range includes many references compatible with various spas and hot tubs, as well as some inflatable spa models. You will find filters from renowned brands like Darlly, Pleatco, Topology, or Cleonia, available in multiple diameter and length combinations. To facilitate your search, we offer a wide selection of references and a search engine to quickly identify the filter suitable for your spa. Regular maintenance and frequent cleaning of your filter help extend its lifespan and maintain perfectly filtered water.
Among the most popular references, the spa filter (60401 / 6CH-940 / 6TH-940 / PWW50P) is one of the most commonly used screw-in spa filters on the market. Its broad compatibility with many spa brands makes it a frequently sought-after reference when replacing a filter cartridge.

Screw-in Spa Filter FAQ

How can I tell if my spa filter is a screw-in filter?

A screw-in spa filter typically has threading located at one end of the cartridge. To confirm, check for the presence of a threaded handle such as MPT (fine thread) or SAE (thick thread). A simple comparison of the diameter, length, and fastening system often helps identify the right filter for your spa. For assistance, consult our guide.

How do I measure a screw-in spa filter?

To find a compatible spa filter, it is necessary to note the outer diameter, total length or height of the cartridge, and the type of handle. These measurements quickly identify a filter compatible with your spa or hot tub.

What is the difference between MPT and SAE handles?

The designations MPT and SAE correspond to different types of threads found on screw-in spa filters. Two filters may have the same diameter and length but be incompatible if the MPT or SAE handle is different. This verification is essential before any purchase.

What is the difference between the length and height of a spa filter?

Depending on the manufacturers, the vertical dimension of a filter may be indicated as length or height. To choose a compatible screw-in spa filter, it is important to compare both the diameter, total length, and handle type. A difference in height can prevent correct installation of the filter in the spa skimmer.

Are there screw-in spa filters available for inflatable spas?

Yes, some models of inflatable spas also use a cartridge with a screw-in system. Before choosing an inflatable spa filter, check the diameter, length, fastening type, and original reference. The needs of an inflatable spa may differ from those of a rigid spa or hot tub.

Can I purchase a pack or set of spa filters?

Some references are offered in sets or packs of multiple filters. Buying a set of spa filters ensures you always have a clean cartridge available during spa maintenance and cleaning operations.

Are screw-in spa filters available in stock?

Availability varies by reference. When a screw-in spa filter is in stock, this information is indicated directly on the product page. You can check the stock status before finalizing your order.

How often should a spa filter be cleaned?

Regular cleaning of the filter is essential to maintain water quality. Depending on spa usage, a weekly rinse and more thorough maintenance help extend the filter's lifespan and improve filtration performance.

When should a screw-in spa filter be replaced despite maintenance?

Replacement every 3 to 6 months is recommended to maintain optimal water quality, depending on your spa's usage intensity. Between each replacement, regular pleat cleaning extends the filter's efficiency. Ordering a set of 2 or 4 filters allows you to anticipate changes without delay.

How can I quickly find a compatible spa filter?

The simplest way is to note the diameter, length, height, handle type (MPT, SAE), and the original reference. The Boospa filter search engine then provides a quick view of filters compatible with your spa.

How can I track my spa filter order?

Upon shipping your spa filter, you will receive a tracking number via email. You can then track your order directly from the carrier's website or your customer account to monitor the delivery progress.

Can I return a spa filter if it is not suitable?

A spa filter can be returned within 14 days of receipt under the right of withdrawal, provided it is new, unused, and in its original packaging. Before installation, it is advisable to check the diameter, length, height, and handle type (MPT, SAE, or PWW) to avoid any compatibility errors.

Are customer reviews helpful in choosing a screw-in spa filter?

Reviews posted by users help provide a better view of a filter's compatibility with certain spas or hot tubs. Reviews can also offer useful information on filtration quality, ease of installation, cartridge durability, and filter performance over time.
