This drain valve serves as an additional safety measure against water seepage towards the blower. Unlike a check valve, it remains open when the blower is not running and closes under air pressure when it is on. This process allows any water that managed to infiltrate the air pipes to escape without reaching the blower and potentially damaging it.
It is suitable for air pipes with an outer diameter of 1.5" (48.5mm). It is typically used at the bottom of a T-fitting.
Caution, it is not recommended for use in a water circuit as it may slow down your flow rate.
